Storyline


Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday visited a biopharmaceutical company in Singapore accompanied by Singaporean Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.

Tessa Therapeutics, the company, is a startup aiming to provide cancer patients with viable, affordable solutions to treat tumors.

Li showed keen interest in the company's core technologies of screening, activating and increasing T cells, which play a key role in human body's immune system to fight cancer. The Chinese premier applauded the company's engagement in advancing their next-stage clinical tests to make their therapy viable.

Li said China-Singapore cooperation in the related fields not only brings hope to more patients and their families, but also provides wider room for promoting Singaporean companies' research results.

The two sides can also talk about multi-party cooperation, and study the possibility of combining different therapies to make joint contributions to the health of human beings, said Li.
