"We have 1,400 tons of concentrated feed and 250 tons of clover. There will be more snow later on. We need to mix more fodder, so we can keep the 20,000 plus livestock in our village safe through the winter."

Heavy snow in northwest China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region from Saturday to Sunday brought temperatures down as low as minus 18 degrees Celsius, forcing local herdsmen to shelter their livestock in barns.
With low temperatures and grass on the prairies covered in 30-centimeter-deep snow, herdsmen from Manas County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, collected their livestock and drove them back to ranches, where these camels and cattle can be well fed with fodder and have a roof over their heads to keep them warm.
Foreseeing more snow, locals have been furiously preparing more fodder, so all the animals can make it through the winter.
