"A day on the Moon is about 14 days long on the Earth, and a night on the Moon is also 14 days long. The probe has no sunlight lasting for 14 days during the Moon night. Our probe, including the rover, mainly relies on solar panels to get solar power and generate electricity to work."

China's Chang'e-4 lunar probe made up of a lander and a rover was awakened by sunlight by Wednesday after its first night on the far side of the Moon.
China National Space Administration (CNSA) said Thursday that the lander was awakened at 20:39 Wednesday Beijing Time and the rover Yutu-2 (Jade Rabbit-2) at 20:00 Tuesday.
"A day on the Moon is about 14 days long on the Earth, and a night on the Moon is also 14 days long. The probe has no sunlight lasting for 14 days during the Moon night. Our probe, including the rover, mainly relies on solar panels to get solar power and generate electricity to work," said Li Chunlai, deputy director of the National Astronomical Observatories of China and commander-in-chief of the ground application system of the Chang'e-4.
A radioisotope thermoelectric generator (RTG) was installed on the lander to power a temperature collector. It is the first time for China to get temperature data of the Moon during night.
Scientific research on the far side of the Moon will continue as the probe has been awakened, said the CNSA.
Chang'e-4 achieved the first soft landing on the far side of the Moon on January 3, 2019.
