Nearly 50 million colorful lights are illuminating a splendid lantern show in a rural village in south China's Guangdong Province, attracting throngs of tourists from the city amid Spring Festival celebrations.

The lantern show, the first of its kind in Dapuwei, the easternmost village of Guangzhou City, began on January 25.

Decorated with both traditional and modern lanterns in various shapes, the remote village is offering an incredible visual feast for locals and tourists alike.

"We came from [the urban area] of Guangzhou to admire this lantern show. We saw the show's advertisement on WeChat Moments. We came to see it amid Spring Festival celebrations. I think the show is exquisitely laid out, and my child is having a good time here," said a tourist.

The show will run until February 24.
