The meeting took place after the summit between top leader of DPRK Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump ended without an agreement.
Wang acknowledged the Kim-Trump negotiations were difficult, but both sides have made their general direction clear, that is, denuclearization. Wang quoted a Chinese proverb as saying "good things never come easily."
He hoped that both the United States and DPRK remain patient and continue working together to achieve their mutual goals.
He said China is willing to continue playing a constructive role in the process.
