St. Patrick's Day Parade marched up the Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, New York City on Saturday, bringing together tens of thousands of spectators and marchers to appreciate all things Irish.
The event kicked off with a mass held at St. Patrick's Cathedral before the parade started at 11:00 and lasted until 17:00.
It is a major holiday in the city, home to one of the largest number of Irish Americans in the country.
"It's St. Patrick's Day, we got to be here," said a celebrator.
"Because we're Irish," added another one.
Thirty-five streets were cordoned off for the celebrations, from 44th Street to 79th Street.
People from all walks of life and background joined in the parade just as the saying goes, 'Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day'.
"Irish just today," said three participants from Scotland, Germany, England.
"Today is a special day, it's St. Patrick's Day, so I'm Irish for only today," said another celebrator.
St. Patrick's Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on March 17, the death date of the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.
