Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Monday met with visiting Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono and other senior Japanese officials in Beijing.
China and Japan are important neighbors, and the bilateral relations have returned to the right track and made new progress since last year, thanks to the concerted efforts of the two sides, Li said.
Li called for joint efforts to ensure a fair, just and non-discriminatory business environment for the two countries' enterprises, as both China and Japan support free trade and abide by the World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
China is willing to work with Japan and other relevant parties to advance negotiations on the China-Japan-ROK Free Trade Zone and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, according to the Chinese premier.
The Japanese officials said the Japanese side stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and to deepen communication and coordination with China in multilateral areas.
On Sunday, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi co-chaired the fifth high-level economic dialogue between China and Japan with Kono in Beijing.
