Frontier forces of China and Tajikistan recently conducted a joint border patrol and emergency drill in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, an area at an altitude of over 4,300 meters above sea level.
The drill aimed to strengthen cooperation on border control and enhance capacity of responding to emergency in complex situations.
At 11:00, more than 30 soldiers from both sides trekked on snow, marching along the boundary barbed wire mesh between the 75th and 87th boundary stones.
The two frontier forces also organized an emergency drill to cope with illegal border crossing. After receiving reports, one group swiftly occupied the commanding elevation, another group intercepted the criminal from the rear. The illegal border crosser was rapidly captured thanks to close cooperation.
