Storyline

British Prime Minister Theresa May pledged on Sunday to Members of Parliament (MPs) a "new and improved deal" on Britain's exit from the European Union (EU) when it comes up for a fourth vote in the first week of June.

May's promise came amid the Brexit impasse after MPs repeatedly rejected her Brexit deal over the past months. May claims that genuine changes have been made in the new deal, including offering Parliament a vote on a second Brexit referendum.

To ensure a smooth departure, May said that the government had to make some compromises, though it might not be the path the government should take.

May expects the new, bold offer will be voted through the House of Commons next month to avert a chaotic no-deal Brexit by the latest deadline of October 31.

Opposition Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn has said he will not support the "fundamentally" unchanged Brexit bill.
