Storyline

Heavy rain battered east and south China's Fujian Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday, triggering mudslide and disrupting traffic.

Fujian continued its emergency response plan against the heavy rain on Monday.

On Saturday, armed police and officials evacuated nearly 40 villagers in Pucheng County, Nanping City to safe places before a mudslide that occurred at about 16:00 and destroyed 22 houses.

In Shunchang County, local authorities on Sunday evacuated residents to safe places due to the rising water level caused by the heavy rain.
