The fourth China-Arab States Expo is scheduled to be held from September 5 to 8 in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Friday.
With the purpose of promoting friendship, deepening cooperation and common development, and the theme of new opportunities and new future, the expo will feature eight exhibitions, investment and trade fair and other activities following the opening ceremony.
"The expo will focus on the fields of trade and investment, Internet Plus, cross-border e-commerce, infrastructure and capacity cooperation, and hold investment and trade promotion conferences, forums, exhibitions and other activities to promote mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Arab countries in the above-mentioned areas," said Qian Keming, Chinese vice minister of Commerce.
In 2018, China-Arab trade volume climbed to 244.3 billion U.S. dollars, up 28 percent year on year. The value of new contracts signed by Chinese companies in Arab countries reached 35.6 billion U.S. dollars, growing 9 percent year on year.
The China-Arab States Expo has become a state-level comprehensive platform for China-Arab joint construction of the Belt and Road, and a total of 18 Arab countries have signed Belt and Road cooperation documents with China.
