Then the police loudly told her 'you're only 15 years old, how come you have no future?' I think he said quite right. The policeman was actually heartbroken when he arrested her."

Storyline

Prominent Hong Kong educators have called for the right guidance for the special administrative region's students to recognize the nature of the recent unrest and enhance their sense of national identity.

Their statements came after some Hong Kong students were misled by a few people with wicked intentions to participate in the recent riots.

"The ability to distinguish or analyze information is actually very important for a student. If they don't have those skills, they will be misled by some people who have bad intentions," said Wu Pi-chien, a Hong Kong teacher.

"Many young students still lack the sense of national identity and the understanding of our country. They are vulnerable to the influence of some external forces. On the other hand, we can also see that the practices of some legislators in recent years may also have a bad influence on young people," said Wei Xiangdong, professor of Economics, Lingnan University.

The educators called on young students in Hong Kong to respond to the call of the central government to stabilize the current situation in Hong Kong, recognize the nature of the incident and stop being influenced and exploited by a few people.

"I certainly hope that these agitated young people won't be so agitated, because you are gambling on your future. When a 15-year-old girl was arrested by the police in Tin Shui Wai, she said 'Hong Kong has no future, I have no future, either'. Then the police loudly told her 'you're only 15 years old, how come you have no future?' I think he said quite right. The policeman was actually heartbroken when he arrested her," said Fung Wai-kwong, organizer of Hong Kong youth training programs.

"I have to remind the educators to provide the most correct guidance for the students with professional spirit. For the students, I especially want to urge you here to know the society well, to increase your knowledge and become the future pillar of the country with good character. You'll have a boundless future," said Ko Ka-yue, head of Hong Kong Teachers' Association.
