2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Wang Fang, chief expert, China Automotive Technology and Research Center:
"In real traffic accidents, there are often several cars colliding each other at the same time. Our test is very close to real, strict situation."
3. Various of cars after receiving collision test
4. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Liu Lei, chief engineer, real car collision test office, China Automotive Technology and Research Center (starting with shot 3):
"The body structure of the car functioned very well. After two strikes, the high-strength steel of the car ensured the integrity of the car's structure, which will offer enough space for passengers to survive."
5. Various of cars after receiving collision test; engineers checking car's situation
6. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Liu Lei, chief engineer, real car collision test office, China Automotive Technology and Research Center:
"We confirmed after the test that the battery pack didn't leak electricity, nor did it have the risk of fire breaking or explosion. The power supply is also enclosed in the battery pack. So the vehicle passed electric safety test."

China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) released for the first time on Friday the result of a double collision test on an electric vehicle by two other vehicles.
The test simulated an electric vehicle labeled "B" waiting for the traffic lights at crossroads and being hit by a car labeled "A" from the rear at a high speed and then hit by another car labeled "C" on the side.
"In real traffic accidents, there are often several cars colliding each other at the same time. Our test is very close to real, strict situation," said Wang Fang, leading expert of CATARC.
In the test, B was hit on the rear by A at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour, then slammed on the side by C also at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. The energy absorption and dispersion in this case are very complicated, which is a test primarily to the high strength of cars.
"The body structure of the car functioned very well. After two strikes, the high-strength steel of the car ensured the integrity of the car's structure, which will offer enough space for passengers to survive," said Liu Lei, chief engineer of real car collision test office of CATARC.
The high-strength steel is the first protection of the car, and the high safety configuration is the second. The most noteworthy part of the test is is the safety of battery, motor and electronic control system.
"We confirmed after the test that the battery pack didn't leak electricity, nor did it have the risk of fire breaking or explosion. The power supply is also enclosed in the battery pack. So the vehicle passed electric safety test," added Liu.
