Storyline


Beijing's new airport, Daxing International Airport, has fixed part of flight schedules.

The new airport was put into operation on September 25. It has formed a dual air hub in the Chinese capital together with the existing Capital International Airport.

Starting from October 27, Air China will operate one flight a day from the airport to China's Chongqing Municipality, Pudong in Shanghai, Kunming, Nanning, Harbin, Shenzhen, Changsha, Shenyang and Zhanjiang.

The Eastern Airlines will operate two-way domestic flights in the winter-spring season to and from Pudong and Hongqiao in Shanghai, Xining, Harbin and Dongying.

The Xiamen Airlines will move its base to the Daxing airport in March 2020.

China United Airlines, state-owned budget airlines, will be the first to transfer its operations to Daxing from its current headquarters at the Beijing Nanyuan Airport with affordable ticket prices and special services to customers. It will operate more than 130 flights a day, serving a network of more than 80 routes.

"After moving to the Daxing airport, we will cooperate with the China Eastern Airlines and the Shanghai Airlines to open more routes to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia, especially to tourist destinations," said Nie Zengyi, official of the party committee of the China United Airlines.

Many foreign airlines have also announced plans to move to the Daxing airport.

British Airways says all its flights departing from London Heathrow Airport to Beijing will land in Daxing from October 27.

Polish Airlines has also announced that it will open routes between Beijing Daxing Airport and Warsaw On October 28.

Finnair of Finland has announced that it will operate three flights a week to the Daxing Airport starting from Nov 3.
