A wreath-laying ceremony was held in front of the Friendship Tower in Pyongyang, capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Friday to commemorate the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.

Diplomats from the Chinese embassy, DPRK officials as well as local residents attended the ceremony.

Then they entered the tower to visit an exhibition of wall paintings illustrating the scenes of Chinese and DPRK soldiers fighting side by side during the wartime.

On the same day, the renovation project for the cemetery of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs was launched, with six cemeteries to be renovated.
