Storyline

New energy vehicles displayed at the ongoing Guangzhou International Auto Show highlight the new trend of auto industry, meaning the upgrading of new energy vehicles has entered a new era.

The 10-day auto show opened in south China city of Guangzhou on Friday. Among the 1,050 vehicles on display, there are 180 new energy vehicles, accounting for a large proportion among the subdivided vehicle models.

Many of the new energy vehicles have abandoned the model of retrofitted traditional ones and built new platforms instead. Thus not only the appearance is new, but also the internal power and chassis are all brand new.

"The second generation is a revolutionary upgrade from the first generation, as the first generation is transformed from oil-driven to electric-driven, meaning the engine was changed into electric motor, electronic control and battery. Now we have built a new pure electric special platform for the second generation of product," said Gu Huinan, general manager of the local GAC New Energy.

Many enterprises have added more intelligent elements to the platform of new energy vehicles.

"The vehicles have been equipped with intelligent robots, which can interact and learn with drivers actively, so that our trips are warm and interesting," said Zhou Jiang, vice president of the Hozon Auto Group.

"We focus on intelligent experience, and I am very optimistic about the future development of this market," said Daniel Kirchert, CEO of the BYTON Auto.

BYTON is a new car enterprise. This is the first time for the enterprise to participate in the Guangzhou International Auto Show, where its first mass-produced vehicle is making its debut. The 48-inch screen equipped in the vehicle highlights the new trend of automobiles.

"In my opinion, one of the most important aspects of the current autos is the development towards intelligent network connection, which changes the function of the whole car from a single transportation tool in the past to an information terminal now," said Wang Ruixiang, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation.
