"We got the information that Chinese embassy and consulate in New Zealand have confirmed that two Chinese citizens have been injured in the New Zealand volcano erupting up to now."

"After the incident, the Chinese embassy in New Zealand has immediately activated the emergency response mechanism and verified with various sources that there are Chinese citizens affected by the disaster. The Chinese embassy has also sent personnel to visit the injured Chinese citizens in the hospital. It has also posted messages on its website to remind Chinese citizens in New Zealand of guarding against the impact of natural disasters. We will continue to maintain close contact with New Zealand. We hope that New Zealand will continue to do its best to treat the wounded and search for missing persons."

At least two Chinese citizens were injured in the volcano erupting on White Island, New Zealand, on Monday.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Hua Chunying, made the statement in a daily press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday.
"We got the information that Chinese embassy and consulate in New Zealand have confirmed that two Chinese citizens have been injured in the New Zealand volcano erupting up to now," said Hua.
"After the incident, the Chinese embassy in New Zealand has immediately activated the emergency response mechanism and verified with various sources that there are Chinese citizens affected by the disaster. The Chinese embassy has also sent personnel to visit the injured Chinese citizens in the hospital.
