China-FM Briefing/US Ambassador

3. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Hua Chunying, spokeswoman, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"I don't know what you are thinking about when you read the report. I could not help but laugh. I don't know whether or not Chinese police are too silly, or the Australian police are too incompetent, or the American ambassador to Australia is too stupid? See, Chinese police went across the seas and oceans to put fake police vehicles with the words 'Chinese Police Car' in front of doors of the house of Uygur people living in Australia to threaten them. I don't think that even the lamest Hollywood screenwriter could come out with such a bad script. If the U.S. ambassador wants to slander China, even if he has lost his mind, he should have used his own brain. Otherwise, he could only end up a joke to be laughed at by the people of the world."

5. Press conference in progress
The slander on China by the U.S. ambassador to Australia is ridiculous, said a spokeswoman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The spokewoman, Hua Chunying, made the statement at press briefing on Thursday in response to the remarks by U.S. ambassador to Australia Arthur Culvahouse that Uygur people in Australia are being monitored and harassed by foreign agents, and Uygurs are afraid of being punished any time they express their concerns about how their community is being treated as fake "Chinese Police Cars" parked outside their residences, and the Chinese government is responsible for that.
Hua told the U.S. official to stop slandering China or he would be held accountable for what he said.
