Storyline


Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday attended a welcome ceremony held by Myanmar President U Win Myint in Nay Pyi Taw, capital of Myanmar.

U Win Myint extended his cordial greetings to visiting Chinese president upon the latter's arrival at the ceremony that was held near the Presidential Palace of Myanmar.

The two heads of state reviewed the Myanmar Guard of Honor and greeted the Chinese, Myanmar officials who attended the ceremony.

Xi arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday for a state visit to Myanmar.

During his two-day stay, Xi is scheduled to attend a series of state events held by U Win Myint, hold talks with State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, meet with Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services Min Aung Hlaing, and exchange views with leaders of Myanmar's parliament and political parties.
