Nearly 400,000 festive ornaments have added to the festive atmosphere in Beijing for the upcoming Spring Festival and Lantern Festival since Friday.
As the Chinese capital city completes its decoration for the festivities, streets have been decorated with colorful lights and lanterns to present an auspicious atmosphere.
"We have used more LED lights at night to create dynamic effects, including using lights to present a similar visual effect of meteor shower. The streets have used gradient colors including blue, yellow and white. Red is the dominant color, which also has dynamic effects," said Wu Han, head of landscape design of the Dongcheng District.
With red as the main color, Beijing has used about 400,000 ornaments, including lanterns, lights and others. The city has also decorated about 60 overpasses.
"This year, we have not only focused on the decoration of the city in the daytime, but also at nighttime," said Liu Jie, a staff member at the landscape department of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Management.
The Spring Festival, or the Chinese New Year, falls on Jan 25.
