Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Myanmar has achieved fruitful results, injecting fresh impetus to the Paukphaw friendship between the two countries in the new era, said experts.
Xi ended a two-day state visit to the Southeast Asian nation on Saturday, during which he met with President U Win Myint, held talks with State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and attended the welcoming banquet hosted by U Win Myint. The Chinese president also witnessed the signing of a number of cooperative agreements.
Khin Maung Lynn, joint secretary of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, expects their close exchanges with Chinese peers to push for implementation of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor and other major cooperation projects, describing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for his country.
