The cruise ship "World Dream" has been quarantined in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as eight people who had been on board tested positive for the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
The ship arrived at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on Wednesday with over 1,800 passengers and 1,800 crew members, who have to stay on the ship until the Hong Kong health authorities finish the health examination of everyone on board.
The ship left Hong Kong on January 19 and stopped at Guangzhou City before finishing its trip in Vietnam on January 24 with over 4,600 tourists.
After its trip to Vietnam, the ship continues to serve several groups of tourists and arrived at Kaohsiung on February 4.
As some tourists who were get off the ship in Vietnam tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the local authorities of Kaohsiung denied its passengers getting on shore. The ship had to return to Hong Kong ahead of schedule and arrived at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal on Wednesday.
Upon its arrival, the health authorities of Hong Kong immediately sent a group of medical workers to examine the conditions of the passengers and the crew.
Those who are having a fever were sent to hospitals for further check, while the remaining people have to wait for the results of the examination result.
So far the ship is still running well and the passengers on board are free to move about the ship and use its facility.
Relatives and friends of the passengers can also send supplies to them through relevant staff members.
