Wuhan City of central China's Hubei Province has regularized the night disinfection against novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The city uses the mist cannon trucks to disinfect the city twice a day at 10:00 and 16:00 and added an additional round of disinfection at night.

"We have to strengthen the intensity of the disinfection while trying not to disturb the residents. We come out at 22:00 and work for an hour and go back to add disinfectant and water and come out again. This process repeats three or four times until 02:00," said Jiang Jianguo, disinfection worker, Jiangcheng Tianmei Sanitation Co. LTD..

The mist cannon trucks, which used to reduce dust in the city, are now equipped with diluted disinfectant to disinfect the city streets.

"The disinfectant we use is the 84 disinfectant provided by the supplier. The ratio of disinfectant and water is 1:400, basically harmless to human body," said Jiang.

Apart from streets, the city also disinfects public places of communities by both men and machines.

"The cannon truck may work for two hours, covering several thousand square meters," said Huang Youjun, director of the Changqing Street Environmental Health Bureau, Hanjiang District.

The communities have set up special bins for recycling used masks.

"Our community has three points for discarded marks recycling. The urban management committee will send vehicles to collect them and send them to the incinerator," said Huang.

At present, the Wuhan city management department is responsible for disinfecting major public areas and sanitation facilities, covering more than 10 million square meters.
