Storyline

Five transport planes operated by the Qatar Airways arrived in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, respectively, on Saturday, carrying a total of 300 tons of medical supplies for China.

The 300 tons of medical supplies included 2.5 million protective masks, 500,000 bottles of hand sanitizers and a large amount of medical-grade disposable latex gloves. They are all donated by the Qatar Airways.

Among the five cargo planes, two arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport at 2:00 in the morning, one of the two international airports located in the Chinese capital city.

"The Beijing Capital International Airport has completed 1,220 flights in total to send supplies, and 2,000 tons of supplies have already been transported," said Zheng Jianan from the news center of Beijing Capital International Airport.

Since the Qatar Airways announced on February 5 that it will use all its global airline networks to help China fight the epidemic, it has helped Chinese embassies and consulates in a number of countries to carry anti-epidemic materials free of charge.
