"In order to export these medical devices as soon as possible to enable them to play a positive role in fighting the pandemic, we have opened a green channel to handle the export sales certificate of medical devices for enterprises within one working day. This certificate is used by the enterprise for customs clearance and registration of the importing country. From January 20 to present, we have handled a total of 391 export records for medical devices, and issued 186 export sales certificates for medical devices."

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic worsens globally, ten enterprises in Beijing have ramped up the production of COVID-19 test kits after obtaining the CE certification for export, according to Beijing Medical Products Administration on Tuesday.

The CE mark is a safety certification mark and is regarded as the manufacturer's passport to enter the European market.

At present, 20 different types of COVID-19 detection kit products from ten enterprises in Beijing have obtained the EU's CE certification and have been exported to many countries across Asia, Africa and many EU countries. The orders have exceeded 4.5 million.

In addition, medical equipment products such as X-ray camera, mobile X-ray camera, first aid ventilator and non-invasive integrated ventilator produced by a number of enterprises in Beijing have also obtained the EU's CE certification and are approved for use in the international market.
