"Some countries have put forward commercial procurement requirements to China through diplomatic channels. In this regard, we recommended some qualified export companies to communicate and negotiate with foreign purchasers. As far as I know, the foreign purchasers have not reported on the quality problems of the materials purchased through the above channel."

"In Slovakia, some government officials questioned the reliability of the rapid test kits purchased from China the other day. The Chinese embassy in Slovakia immediately contacted the relevant Chinese company for detailed information. The preliminary judgment is that some medical staff mistakenly used the conventional nucleic acid kits testing method for the newly purchased antigen testing kits, which caused uncertainty or inaccuracy in the results. The embassy in Slovakia has raised an alert to paying attention to the differences between different testing methods. In this regard, the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs has showed their appreciation of China's help in difficult times, appraised China for assisting Slovakia in importing medical supplies, and expressed their willingness to continue to strengthen cooperation and share experience on pandemic prevention with China."

7. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Hua Chunying, spokeswoman, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
"China's intention to help others is sincere. If some problems occurred during the process, I think we should all adopt a realistic attitude and spirit to solve them immediately and reasonably. China is willing to maintain close communication with relevant departments. But we hope that this issue will not be interpreted politically. In fact, at the early stage of China's fight against the epidemic, we got some unqualified supplies among the donations we received from other countries. However we chose to trust and respect the good will of those countries."

Storyline

China is helping other countries fight against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with sincerity, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Monday during a press briefing as some countries ditched the coronavirus test kits from China "unreliable" and "less accurate".

Hua said that many countries have purchased medical goods from China recently. On the premise of ensuring domestic needs for virus control, China has strongly supported the qualified and reputable enterprises to export medical materials and meanwhile introduced various measures for foreign buyers to facilitate their purchase.

"Some countries have put forward commercial procurement requirements to China through diplomatic channels. In this regard, we recommended some qualified export companies to communicate and negotiate with foreign purchasers. As far as I know, the foreign purchasers have not reported on the quality problems of the materials purchased through the above channel," said Hua.

She said that Chinese embassies in the relevant countries have done the research and verification upon learning the information and responded as soon as possible.

In this regard, the Slovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs has showed their appreciation of China's help in difficult times, appraised China for assisting Slovakia in importing medical supplies, and expressed their willingness to continue to strengthen cooperation and share experience on pandemic prevention with China," said Hua.

She added that many enterprises in China are working around the clock in order to provide more medical goods to countries in need.
