The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday refuted the groundless accusations by the U.S. state of Missouri against China's epidemic control efforts, saying the so-called lawsuit is "malicious".

Geng Shuang, spokesman for Chinese Foreign Ministry, spoke at a press briefing in response to a Tuesday lawsuit filed by Missouri which held China responsible for the economic losses caused by the pandemic outbreak in the state.

Geng said such accusations are without any legal basis, and as a matter of fact, China has been actively cooperating with the international community in containing the epidemic.

"This kind of accusations are absurd, without any facts or legal basis. The U.S. side has received relevant information ever since the early days of the outbreak, Geng added, noting that the lawsuit - which violates basic legal principles - is malicious.

دحضت وزارة الخارجية الصينية يوم الأربعاء/22 أبريل الجاري، الاتهامات الباطلة التي وجهتها ولاية ميزوري الأمريكية بشأن الجهود الصينية في مكافحة الوباء، قائلة إن ما يسمى بالدعوى القضائية حيلة "خبيثة" .

جاءت تصريحات قنغ شوانغ، المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الصينية، خلال مؤتمر صحفي، ردًا على الدعوى القضائية التي رفعتها ولاية ميزوري الأمريكية، والتي توجه من خلالها اتهامات تزعم فيها أن الصين مسؤولة عن الضرر الاقتصادي الذي ألحقه تفشي الوباء في الولاية.
وأشار قنغ إلى أن مثل هذه الاتهامات لا يدعمها أي أساس قانوني، مؤكداً أن الصين تتعاون بنشاط مع المجتمع الدولي لاحتواء الوباء.

China refutó hoy miércoles la acusación infundada del estado de Missouri de Estados Unidos (EEUU) contra sus esfuerzos de control de la COVID-19, calificando la llamada demanda de "maliciosa".

Geng Shuang, portavoz del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de China, expresó su posición en una conferencia de prensa habitual sobre una demanda presentada el martes por Missouri, que acusó a China de las enormes pérdidas económicas causadas por el brote pandémico en el estado.

Geng manifestó que la parte estadounidense había recibido informaciones pertinentes desde los primeros días del brote, y que tal acusación es infundada y absurda. Enfatizó que China ha estado cooperando activamente con la comunidad internacional para frenar la propagación del virus.

Das chinesische Außenministerium wies am Mittwoch (22. April) die unbegründeten Anschuldigungen des US-Bundesstaates Missouri gegen Chinas Bemühungen zur Seuchenbekämpfung zurück und sagte, die sogenannte Klage sei „böswillig“.

Geng Shuang, Sprecher des chinesischen Außenministeriums, äußerte sich auf einer Pressekonferenz zu einer am Dienstag von der Regierung von Missouri eingereichte Klage, in der China für die durch den Ausbruch der Pandemie verursachten wirtschaftlichen Verluste in dem Bundesstaat verantwortlich gemacht wurde.
