"We haven't received any data specific evidence from the US government relating to the purported origin of the virus, so from our perspective, this remains speculative. So if that data and evidence is available, and it will be for the United States government to decide whether and when it can be shared. So we focus on what we know, we focus on the evidence we have and the evidence we have from the sequencing and from all that we have been advised is the virus itself is of natural origin."

WHO officials rejected claims by the U.S. government regarding the origins of the novel coronavirus, saying there is substantial evidence to show that the virus originated from nature, speaking at a pressing briefing on Monday.
These remarks come in response to US President Trump and US Secretary of State Pompeo's claims that COVID-19 came from the Wuhan Virus Research Institute.
