"The first is Der Spiegel, who published an article titled 'Chinas Volkskongress: Gipfel der Zuversicht' on its website. It means the two sessions are gatherings that send the message of confidence, because their focus is that China now dares to hold the two sessions, with nearly 3,000 people sitting down together. This is impossible in Germany, or in the Europe. Nobody else dares to do so. It shows our daily life has returned to a new and normal state. Although people are still wearing face masks, among other precaution measures, our life has returned to normal, like before."

Storyline

The ongoing Two Sessions in China sends a message of confidence and hope to the world, according to German media.

China's national legislature, the National People's Congress (NPC), and the country's top political advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), started their annual sessions on Friday and Thursday respectively in Beijing.

The two sessions, postponed for over two months due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, have attracted world attention, including media from Germany.

Although people are still wearing face masks, among other precaution measures, our life has returned to normal, like before," said Sabrina, a guest of China Radio International (CRI) News Radio.

The Der Spiegel also kept eyes on China's measures to improve people's livelihood and public health, Sabrina added.

"The largest television broadcaster in Europe, the Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), had a report titled 'Volkskongress in China: "Hoffnung"',which means the two sessions are hope. Now China, the first country [hit by the COVID-19] has returned to normal and brought the epidemic under control. As a responsible large country of the world, China sets a good example for the rest countries," said Sabrina.

The guest also shared a report of the Der Tagesspiegel, a German daily newspaper that offers coverage of daily breaking news.

"The Der Tagesspiegel has an article titled 'Wie China sich aus der Coronavirus-Krise retten will', which means how China got through the coronavirus crisis. This article paid attention to measures that China took to resume work and production, build new infrastructures and help small and medium-sized enterprises," said Sabrina.
