China will send a strong signal for safeguarding multilaterism and for strengthening the role of the United Nations at the summit of the Security Council to be held on Thursday, according to a spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

The spokesman, Wang Wenbin, told a regular press briefing that "The current global pandemic and the turbulence brought by international order transformation rare in a century, have had a profound impact on the development of human society.
