China's Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) for non-manufacturing sectors came in at 56.4 in November, up 0.2 points from October amid continued improvement, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.

The official data showed China's non-manufacturing business activities landing above 55 for four consecutive months, continuing a stable and positive recovery from the fallout of COVID-19.

A reading above 50 indicates growth in sector activity, while a reading below represents contraction.

In terms of operation of industries in the country, the recovery of services continues to improve.

The readings of business activity index of railway, aviation, telecommunications, broadcasting and television satellite transmission, and financial industries services are above 60, and the total business volume has increased significantly.

"The non-manufacturing business activity index in November rebounded further, and the economic operation of the entire non-manufacturing industry was relatively good. The financial services further turned for the better in November while the overall financial environment continued to improve," said Cai Jin, deputy director of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

The total business volume of financial services further improved, indicating a stronger financial support for the real economy.

Enterprise surveys show that the proportion of companies that report capital shortages has declined for two consecutive months.

"Generally speaking, with the organic combination of regular epidemic prevention and control and local emergency response, the consumer market has been gradually recovering in an orderly manner, and the recovery of the service industry continues to improve," said Shi Zhaohui, director of the business prosperity office at the Service Survey Center of the NBS.
