Many scenic areas in southwest and northeast China were coated in an early snow on the first day of the National Day holiday, stunning tourists with a picturesque landscape mixing glittering snowflakes and green lushness.
In the Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the heavy snow decorated the trees surrounding the colorful pools, making the spot a fairytale world.
At the Mount Siguniang in the province, the Redwoods, a scenic spot with the highest altitude in the mountain, saw the heaviest snow in the resort on Monday, providing a pleasure ground for tourists to have snowball fights and build snowmen.
"We came from Tianjin to see the prairie and forests on the high mountains, but today we see the snow surprisingly. We are very excited to see the rime," said a tourist.
Cold front also brought a heavy snow and rimes to the Changbai Mountain in northeast China's Jilin Province.
"I have never thought it's so amazing, so beautiful. The snow is very beautiful with the mountains, waterfall and hot spring," said a tourist.
The Chinese National Day holiday season, starting from Oct. 1 to 7, is also known as a "golden week" for family reunion or long trips in China.
