Storyline

Tourist spots and villages across China have been offering dazzling performances and fun activities, attracting large numbers of visitors during the five-day Labor Day holiday which kicked off on Saturday.

Drone light shows wowed audiences with spectacular performances in Jingzhou City of central China's Hubei Province.

A group of more than 1,000 drones made different aerial formations, aligning to resemble the image of workers to pay tribute to them, as well as other icons and phrases in Chinese characters.

Traveling to a rural area to see amazing natural scenery and to enjoy experiencing village life has become increasingly popular in China.

A popular tourist site themed around rural rejuvenation called Zhenxing Xiaozhen or “Revitalization Town” in Changzhi City of north China's Shanxi Province has been packed full of performances including traditional dances, operas and folklore shows, attracting visitors from across the country.

The head of the local tourism department Hao Dongfeng said that the town has been operating under the rural revitalization strategy which focuses on building a rural tourism industry by integrating landscapes and scenery, leisure and entertainment, folklore experience, and agronomic exhibitions.

"We will continue to make efforts in rural tourism and combine with the development of leisure agriculture to accelerate the pace of rural revitalization and help drive people to become wealthier," Hao said.

The increase in tourists also has driven demand for accommodation in the countryside of Beijing, with an over 90 percent occupancy rate at bed and breakfast accommodations in the first three days of the holiday, according to the statistic from the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.

Visitors in Henanzhai, a town in Beijing's Miyun District, can experience the farm ambiance and participate in activities including picking fruits and vegetables at the local greenhouses.

A medicinal botanical garden in Lishui City of east China's Zhejiang Province has become a popular destination where tourists can enjoy music festivals and country fairs crammed with cultural and creative goods, while tasting Chinese traditional medicinal cuisines.
