Hamas has demanded Israel to stop its "aggression" first in order to reach a cease fire, according to its media spokesman Abdul Latif on Sunday.

Over the past week, the armed conflict between Israel and the Hamas-led militant groups in Gaza has been escalating, marking the fiercest fighting between the two sides since 2014.

The clashes have killed at least 190 Palestinians in Gaza and 10 people in Israel, while wounding over 1,500 others, including Palestinians and Israelis.

Talking with China Central Television over phone, Latif stressed it was the Israeli side that started the "aggression" and Hamas is just protecting its people.

"It is the [Israeli] occupiers who opened fire first and launched the war and aggression, which started in Sheikh Jarrah, in the square of the Old City, and in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. To reach a ceasefire, the Zionist occupiers should stop its various forms of attacks and aggression against the Palestinian people, then Hamas will conduct dialog and offer our options to them. Hamas is protecting ourselves and our people in fighting back against the aggression of the occupiers. We will not leave our people alone to face their terrible crimes," said Latif.

طالبت حركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) إسرائيل بوقف "العدوان" أولًا من أجل التوصّل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار، بحسب عبد اللطيف المتحدث باسم الحركة يوم الأحد/ 16 مايو.

على مدار الأسبوع الماضي، تصاعد الصراع المسلّح بين إسرائيل والجماعات المسلّحة التي تقودها حماس في غزة، مما يمثّل أعنف قتال بين الجانبين منذ عام 2014.

وقد أسفرت الاشتباكات عن مقتل ما لا يقل عن 190 فلسطينيًا في غزة و10 أشخاص في إسرائيل، فيما جُرح أكثر من 1500 شخص من بينهم فلسطينيون وإسرائيليون.

وشدد اللطيف في مقابلة صحفية مع تلفزيون الصين المركزي (سي سي تي في) على أن الجانب الإسرائيلي هو الذي بدأ "العدوان"، وأن ما تقوم به حماس هو حماية الشعب الفلسطيني فقط.

Движение ХАМАС назвало условия для прекращения огня, потребовав, чтобы Израиль первым прекратил свою "агрессию" против палестинского народа, сообщил 16 мая представитель палестинской организации Абдул Латиф.

Именно израильская сторона начала "агрессию", а ХАМАС просто защищает свой народ, подчеркнул Абдул Латиф в телефонном разговоре с корреспондентом Центрального телевидения Китая (CCTV).

"Именно [израильские] оккупанты первыми открыли огонь и развязали войну и агрессию, которые начались в районе Шейх-Джаррах, на площади Старого города, а также в секторе Газа и на Западном берегу. Что касается прекращения огня, то сионистские оккупанты первыми должны прекратить свои различные формы нападений и агрессии против палестинского народа, тогда ХАМАС проведет диалог и предложит им свои варианты. На прошлой неделе обострился вооруженный конфликт между Израилем и возглавляемыми ХАМАС группировками в Газе, что стало самым ожесточенным боем между двумя сторонами с 2014 года. В результате этого погибли по меньшей мере 190 палестинцев в Газе и 10 человек в Израиле, более 1500 получили ранения, включая палестинцев и израильтян.

Hamás ha exigido a Israel que detenga su "agresión" primero para alcanzar un alto el fuego, según afirmó el domingo Abdul Latif, el portavoz encargado de los medios de comunicación de Hamás.
