The Chinese mainland administered one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of Saturday, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.
Southern China's Guangzhou City is making full efforts to promote the inoculations as the city will spend three days starting from Saturday to provide vaccination registration to residents who haven't received their second dose of vaccines in more than 35 days, according to a press conference held on Saturday.
As of Friday, Guangzhou has administrated 16.677 million doses of vaccines, with a total of 10.748 million residents having been vaccinated while 5.912 million people have fully completed their inoculations.
Shenzhen City is also speeding up its vaccination process as many districts in the city are turning service centers into temporary vaccination sites to increase efficiency.
Meanwhile, Wuhan city of central China's Hubei Province is promoting vaccines to residents above the age of 18. As of Friday, Wuhan has administrated over 14 million doses of vaccines with more than 8.24 million people having accepted their first dose and more than 5.8 million people completing their second doses.
