Storyline

The wild elephant herd wandering across southwest China's Yunnan Province is yet to find a suitable habitat after returning to Eshan County in Yunnan.

The Asian elephants returned to Eshan County on Thursday night after they traveled to the north for nearly three weeks.

A male elephant, parted its way with the herd two weeks ago, is found roaming alone about 24 km away from the herd.

Wildlife experts said that the shrinking range of the herd's movement after returning to Ershan indicates that they still have not found an ideal spot to inhabit or retreat.

One of the drones used to monitor the elephants' movement has captured the lighthearted moments of the herd's elephant calves enjoying themselves in muddy rivers several times over the past week.
