Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday hailed China's efforts to uphold justice on the Palestinian issue and for its role in promoting peace and security in the Middle East region.
Delivering a speech at the CPC and World Political Parties Summit via video link on Tuesday, Abbas also offered his congratulations to the Communist Party of China (CPC) for the centenary of its founding.
He acknowledged the great achievements China has made in industry, technology, and in other key areas all under the leadership of the CPC.
Abbas, who is also head of the Fatah movement, thanked China for being a reliable friend to the Palestinian people and expects China to continue playing an important role in promoting regional peace in the Middle East.
The one-day summit, held under the theme of "For the People's Wellbeing: the Responsibility of Political Parties," is an important multilateral diplomatic event held at a time when the CPC marks its centenary.
It aims to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in governance between the CPC and political parties worldwide and to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
