The China Media Group (CMG) will launch a series of television programs to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on September 21 this year.
A special program titled "Blooming Flowers and Full Moon" will air on CMG's CCTV-13 channel, highlighting national identity in the new era by sharing stories about Chinese figures and showing incredible landscapes via live streaming.
The 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival Gala will be simultaneously broadcast on three channels of the CMG and its social media platform on Sept 21 to present an audio-visual feast for the world's audiences, with three chapters involving marvelous singing, dancing, and musical performances.
The third season of "Readers," a large-scale cultural program produced by CMG's CCTV-1 channel, returned to the screen on Saturday.
The CCTV-2 channel will broadcast a live television program named "The Granary of China" to reveal China's agricultural secrets.
CCTV-4, which broadcasts outside of China, will air a special program that showcases the country's gorgeous environment as well as the festival's unique customs from various locations.
The 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival Chinese Opera Gala will be held on CCTV-11 during the holiday, CMG's Chinese opera channel, for the more theatrical fans.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, on the night of the full moon between early September to early October of the Gregorian calendar. Designated as a national holiday, the time-honored festival is typically marked by family reunions, enjoying sights of the full moon and eating mooncakes, among other traditions.
