The Chinese mainland reported 75 new local COVID-19 cases and 15 new imported cases in the past 24 hours, said the National Health Commission (NHC) in its daily report on Saturday.

Of the local cases, 61 were reported in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, five in Heilongjiang Province, four each in Hebei and Yunnan provinces, and one in Guangdong Province, according to the NHC.

The one new suspected case arriving from outside the mainland was reported in Shanghai and no new deaths from COVID-19 were reported, it added.

A total of 49 cases were discharged from hospital and 973 close contacts were released from medical observation on the day. There were two more severe cases than in the previous day.

A total of 10,242 imported cases were reported on the mainland by the end of Friday. Of the total, 9,825 were discharged from hospital, and 417 remained hospitalized, with two in severe conditions.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the mainland reached 99,083 by Friday, including 1,013 cases still receiving treatment, of whom 12 were in severe conditions. A total of 93,434 patients have been discharged from hospitals and 4,636 have died. There are two suspected COVID-19 cases remaining on the mainland, and 33,402 of the 1,334,589 close contacts are still under medical observation.

A total of 19 asymptomatic cases were newly reported on Friday, of which 13 were from outside the mainland, five in Yunnan Province and one in Shanghai. Four asymptomatic cases were reconfirmed as active case on the day.

A total of 15 asymptomatic cases, with 13 from overseas, were released from medical observation on Friday.

There was a total of 449 asymptomatic cases under medical observation by Friday, of whom 383 were imported.

By the end of Friday, 12,448 confirmed cases including 213 deaths were reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), along with 77 confirmed cases in the Macao SAR and 16,637 cases including 848 deaths in the Taiwan region of China.

A total of 12,145 COVID-19 patients in Hong Kong, 77 in Macao, and 13,742 in Taiwan have been discharged from hospital following recovery.
