President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa wished Chinese people happy lunar New Year and wished Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics success on Friday.

"China and Zimbabwe have excellent relations, and I hopes that the bilateral relations will be further consolidated, strengthened and deepened in the new year," President Emmerson Mnangagwa said at an interview with China Media Group (CMG).

"May I on behalf of the people of Zimbabwe as President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, express my gratitude for the excellent relations which exist between Zimbabwe and the People's Republic of China. May I also take this opportunity to express on behalf of the people of Zimbabwe, the recent donation by H.E. President Xi Jinping of 10 million doses of Sinovac vaccines to Zimbabwe, this has now enabled us to be able to exceed herd immunity in the implementation of the vaccine," said the president.

He also congratulated Chinese people on a happy lunar Chinese New Year which is coming on Feb. 1 and wished Chinese people a great success and enjoyment as they are going to enter and celebrate new year.

When talking about the upcoming Winter Olympics, Mnangagwa said that he hopes that China will host the games as successfully as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He pointed out that every country is looking forward to participating in this big event, because the 2008 Summer Games has shown China's excellent state and talents to the whole world.

Le président zimbabwéen Emmerson Mnangagwa, a exprimé ses vœux vendredi au peuple chinois à l’occasion du Nouvel An chinois et a souhaité le plein succès aux Jeux olympiques d'hiver de Beijing 2022.

"La Chine et le Zimbabwe entretiennent d'excellentes relations, j'espère que les relations bilatérales entre les deux pays seront consolidées, renforcées et approfondies davantage durant cette nouvelle année", a déclaré le président du Zimbabwe lors d’une interview accordée à China Media Group (CMG).
