Two more ships carrying agricultural products have left Ukraine, said Turkey's defense ministry on Saturday.
A total of 16 ships have left Ukrainian ports over the past two weeks under a deal signed by Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the United Nations (UN) to ensure safe passage for the vessels.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement that one of the two ships, flying the national flag of Barbados, left from the port of Chernomorsk with 12,000 tons of corn, and sailed to Iskender, Turkey.
Another ship, flying the national flag of the Marshall Islands, also departed from the port of Chernomorsk with 3,000 tons of sunflower seeds, and sailed to the Turkish province of Tekirdag.
Turkey said another ship is scheduled to depart from Turkey on Saturday to buy grains in Ukraine.
In late July, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement with the UN and Turkey on the export of agricultural products from Black Sea ports. The first grain ship departed from the port of Odessa, Ukraine on Aug 1.
Before the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in February, Ukraine and Russia, two major exporters of wheat, accounted for nearly a third of global wheat exports.
The Ukrainian government said about 20 million tons of grains harvested last year still wait to be exported, and the country hopes to increase seaborne exports of agricultural products such as grains to more than three million tons per month in the near future.
