Chinese rescue teams started operations on Wednesday evening in Türkiye's southern province of Hatay which suffered the most loss of life in the earthquakes with at least 872 casualties.
An 82-member Chinese rescue team started its efforts at 21:00 Wednesday local time from a collapsed five-story apartment, where 10 residents are missing.
The 82-member team was dispatched by the Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management, at the request of the Turkish government.
The team, composed of personnel from the Beijing fire and rescue corps, the National Earthquake Response Support Service and the Emergency General Hospital in Beijing, carried with them rescue equipment and supplies.
The first team of China's first civil squad aiding the quake relief efforts in Türkiye, the Ramunion Rescue, took a bus from Adana on Wednesday afternoon and reached Iskenderun in Hatay at around 19:00 local time.
