3. Various of aerobatic maneuvers
4. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Li Bin, pilot, Bayi Aerobatic Team, Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force (starting with shot 3/ending with shots 5-6):
"Take the six-jet loop for example. It requires the six jets, both the lead aircraft and wingmen, not just fly with flares. It also requires the lead aircraft to have a good control over wingmen, and wingmen make no errors in sending messages. When the six planes roll in formation, we moved around three axes (which refer to left and right, forwards and backwards, up and down). The lead aircraft and wingmen must have a relative more accurate operation of aircraft."

6. Pilot in cockpit
7. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) He Xiaoli, pilot, Bayi Aerobatic Team, Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force (starting with shot 6/ending with shot 8):
"Not just the maneuver of the six-plane roll in formation is technically difficult for all pilots, the changes in the vertical and three-dimensional space are a great test for pilots."
8. Various of aerobatic maneuvers, pilot

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Ayman (full name not given), viewer (ending with shot 11):
"I like what they did. I like the thing when they go up and they split like a flower. I like it so much. I wish they would do a show tomorrow. I like Chinese, and you are very much welcomed in Saudi Arabia. Thank you China in this show."

We attach great importance to this mission and have deliberately designed new maneuvers and made thorough preparations for it. I believe this performance will bring a visual feast to the people of Saudi Arabia."

Storyline

The Bayi (August 1) Aerobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force made its debut and performed stunts at the World Defense Show in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

This marked the team's inaugural performance in Saudi Arabia and its milestone 10th overseas show.

Six J-10 performance aircraft soared to the sky over Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, and staged stunts such as nosedives and rolls, showing the superb virtuosities and coordinations of pilots.

The lead aircraft and wingmen must have a relative more accurate operation of aircraft," said Li Bin, one of the pilots.

"Not just the maneuver of the six-plane roll in formation is technically difficult for all pilots, the changes in the vertical and three-dimensional space are a great test for pilots," said He Xiaoli, one of China's first batch of female pilots.

The team also made a series of classic and difficult performances, leaving flares of red, yellow, white, and green, wowing the audience at the event.

"I like what they did. I like the thing when they go up and they split like a flower. I like it so much. I wish they would do a show tomorrow. I like Chinese, and you are very much welcomed in Saudi Arabia. Thank you China in this show," Ayman, a viewer.

The team is scheduled to stage more dazzling performances along with aerobatic teams from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and others.

"The show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is the first visit of the Chinese Air Force to Saudi Arabia. The performance demonstrates the profound friendship between our two countries and two armies. We attach great importance to this mission and have deliberately designed new maneuvers and made thorough preparations for it. I believe this performance will bring a visual feast to the people of Saudi Arabia," said Wang Dongliang, a member of the PLA Bayi Aerobatic Team.

The second World Defense Show is running from Feb 4 to 8.
