A fleet of China Coast Guard (CCG) recently carried out a law enforcement operation in waters adjacent to China's Huangyan Island in the South China Sea to maintain the order of production and life, protect the marine ecological environment, ensure the safety of fishermen's lives and property, and safeguard maritime operational safety in the region.
In the operation, CCG vessel 3502 conducted a variety of activities, such as patrols, identification, verification, verbal warnings, route control and on-board inspections in complex water conditions, effectively safeguarding maritime operational safety, ensuring comprehensive law enforcement patrols, and exercising management and control over waters adjacent to the Huangyan Island.
"I'd like to remind fishermen operating in the waters adjacent to Huangyan Island to stay safe and conduct their activities in accordance with law," said Ye Yu, a law enforcement officer on the vessel.
In the operation, the CCG fleet also carried out inspections on facilities and equipment of fishing boats in the sea areas. They helped fishermen eliminate hidden dangers and provided them with medical assistance. Furthermore, legal education was provided to fishermen in order to maintain maritime order.
"When we see our Coast Guard coming to us in the vast ocean, we feel comforted, delighted and happy. We can carry out our operation with confidence," said fisherman Luo Guobin.
