Moreover, the Chengdu Sino-French Ecological Park is one of the only two such parks in China. It plays a vital role in attracting French enterprises to establish themselves in Chengdu, allowing them to benefit from our policy advantages and fostering exchanges with French companies."

Storyline

For many companies operating in Chengdu City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the city has delivered a positive signal, strengthening their confidence in the deepening of China-French cooperation.

Macron paid a state visit to China from December 3 to 5, with Chengdu as one of his key stops.

"I am truly delighted. In 1981, Chengdu and Montpellier became the first pair of sister cities between China and France, pioneering regional friendly cooperation between our two countries. Moreover, the Chengdu Sino-French Ecological Park is one of the only two such parks in China. It plays a vital role in attracting French enterprises to establish themselves in Chengdu, allowing them to benefit from our policy advantages and fostering exchanges with French companies," said Jiang Fulin, General Manager of Western District of Merieux NutriSciences.

The company is viewed as a global leader in food and nutrition security which has expanded its footprint in Chengdu's business ecosystem since establishing operations within the park in 2023. And other than the current two Sino-French parks in China, one more such park is under construction in the northeastern city of Shenyang.

Jiang further highlighted the broader impact of high-level diplomatic engagement on local business ties.

"In fact, during the process of Sino-French cooperation, the visit of the French head of state to Chengdu has significantly raised Chengdu's visibility among French industrial and commercial circles. At the same time, it has also promoted Chengdu-based enterprises' understanding of France. This has provided a substantial boost to the foundational service sector within our trade services," he said.
