China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, grew 2.1 percent year on year in October, up from September's 1.9 percent, the National Bureau of Statistics announced Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the producer price index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, continued its growth by rising 1.2 percent year on year in October, the highest in 55 months, according to the official data.
