"According to reports, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump received a telephone call from Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen on Dec. 2. Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang said today (Dec 3) that China has noticed the reports and lodged serious representations to the United States on the matter. It is a fact recognized by the international community and must be pointed out again that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legal government representing China. The one-China principle is the political foundation of the China-U.S. relations, China urges the U.S. to honor its commitment to the one-China policy and the principle of the three joint communiques, and act prudently on resolving issues involving Taiwan, so as to avoid unnecessary disturbance on the China-U.S. relations."

Geng Shuang, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Saturday China has lodged serious representations to the United States on the matter.
