6. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Geng Shuang, spokesperson, Chinese Foreign Ministry:
"China has no intention of deliberately devaluing the renminbi to gain an advantage over exports. And there is also no basis for further renminbi devaluation. We hope the relevant party could objectively and properly view this issue, and make more efforts that are conducive to mutual trust and bilateral cooperation."

Rejecting U.S. President Donald Trump's claims over China's influence on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), as well as the manipulation of the renminbi, Beijing reiterated its stances on both issues on Friday.
The response on the DPRK nuclear issue came after Trump said on Thursday in an interview that China has "tremendous control over the DPRK" and could "easily solve" the security challenge posed by Pyongyang.
Speaking at a regular news briefing on Friday, Geng Shuang, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said China will continue to seriously and comprehensively implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and fulfill international obligations.
