The China-Europe freight train, which departed from London, arrived at Alataw Pass Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Monday.
It is the first China-Europe freight train to have set off from London. The train covered a distance of nearly 12,000 kilometers and ran through nine countries in Europe and Asia.
In fact, before the journey started, the train was a freight train that departed from Yiwu City, in east China's Zhejiang Province, and later terminated in London. It transported goods made in China to Britain, and this time returned, conveying European goods back to China.

The freight train will stop at Alataw Pass for five days, and then run towards Yiwu.
In the past, the goods transportation of China-Europe freight trains has always been sent in a single direction, from China to Europe, and the trains would come back empty. Since the beginning of this year, the transportation has become bi-directional; European goods were also brought back by the trains.
Now there have been nine China-European freight trains running outbound via Alataw Pass, the largest land port in China. In 2016, a total of 1,727 freight trains to Central Asia and Europe traveled abroad via the "port", with an increase of 35 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, these China-Europe freight trains have contributed a lot to cross-border freight, providing a transportation foundation to implement the "Belt and Road Initiative".
