China's new manned submersible started an underwater test in a special pond in Wuxi City of eastern Jiangsu Province Sunday morning.

All the core components of the new manned submersible were made in China, while some core components of Jiaolong were produced abroad.
One item of the test is that the pilots would operate mechanical arms to place four underwater markers.
